I had to go to Baltimore for some business, and was able to slip away to check the place out. The people that work there seem pretty positive about the Mars. Sorry I couldn't resist taking a pic of my Jeep with the airpImagelanes. :lol:

Hey by the way does anyone know anyting about that F-100? It says U.S. Army on the tail. I did not know the Army ever had F-100's. Could this be a test aircraft.

The outline of the flag on the tail of the F-100 looks like a Danish flag.

Google search says that the Hun is 56-3899 (a photo of which, interestingly, appears on the Wikipedia entry for Myrtle Beach AFB: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:F-10 ... s-1960.jpg)

Apparently it is ex Danish AF, then used by Flight Systems.

Go back to your original post and click "edit." Then put a carriage return between each photo tag and click "submit." That should fix you right up! :D

Is all the museums stuff outside? Do they have another B-57 inside or somewhere? Just wondering, I donated a bomb bay door dolly assembly and wonder if they ever got it on display.

Better known as the "enter" key..to those of us so old that we learned "keyboarding" on actual typewriters! :roll:

Actually, the displayed F-100 is 56-3905, also ex US Army - if I'm not mistaken, its in the background of the photos of 3899 posted earlier in the thread.
Last I heard 56-3899 was under restoration with the local ANG unit.

There was no dolly that I saw, and the aircraft are all outdoors. This set up is temporary as Maryland is building a new facility that will house the collection. They said that a ton of stuff is still in storage.
