Now that it is 2007, Happy New Year everyone. We are that much closer to airshow season. Which airshows will you plan on attending?

Just started thinking about how I should spend my vacation time. Here is my starter list of events I will attend:

Heritage Airfield, 8th Annual Biplanes and taildraggers fly-in, New Berlin, TX (Got to help the family with thier fly-in)

Reno Air Races (I crew on Harvard Racer #444)

Thunder over MI (Going for a third consecutive time, worth the hassle of stand-by travel)

Here is my wish list, as I have never been to these events
Geneseo
Galesburg
Nellis
Chino
Duxford

So many shows, so little vacation time

I would most definetly aim for the Mustang Gathering, you just can't miss it.

The highlight for me has been Geneseo for the past few years and I look forward to it again this year. Great bunch of people down there to deal with.Never been to Thunder Over Michigan though  so perhaps I'll have to attend that one this year also.

The Only one (so far) that we'll definitely be attending is "Gathering". Trip to the D-Day beaches may use up the majority of our $$ for '07. We'll see.

Mudge the underfunded

Geneseo and KOSH for sure.

We'll see for the rest, the local shows haven't been planned yet.

Duxford.

Even though I'm now based over 5,000 miles away, I'll be making the trip back to the UK in July for Flying Legends. Chino and Reno come close, but nothing I've seen anywhere else quite match up to 'Legends'. Add in an evening display at Old Warden the following Saturday, and I'll be in my own little Warbird heaven for a few days!

Chino, Reno and the Mustang Gathering (hotel already booked) are all on the list for 2007 as well, plus some of the smaller NorCal shows and fly-ins and possibly Nellis again.

I'll be hitting the Shatfer CA show (Minter field), and Reno for sure, as well as hopefully Thunder and Oshkosh.

Mike...you can't say Flying Legends and not have me start salivating. We'll be in France the weekend before and I sure would like to stay for Legends. Have to see how much tax refund we're gonna' get though.

Mudge the drooly :spit2

Gathering of Mustangs

Maybe a few more of the Jet Shows if I feel like it, the weather is nice and the line up is worth gas money.

I'm hoping on making Thunder Over Michigan and the Mustang Gathering. As well as all events the Indiana Aviation Museum hosts.

"Thunder Over Michigan" is only an hour up the road, so that's a no-brainer. We'll also probably hit the Canadian Warplane Heritage "Soar With Legends" weekend. The Blue Angels are also performing here at the annual July 4th show in Battle Creek.

We're planning to go this year's IPMS Nationals in Anahiem, so we'll definately make it to Chino (not an Airshow..but a place I've wanted to visit since I heard of it as a kid.)
