Warbird Information Exchange

here is a couple shots of my car at Bowman Field in Louisville, KY




The car is a 1931 Ford coupe with a supercharged 1948 Ford flathead.

The airport was a troop carrier command training base in WWII. The building in the pic is the original terminal and there are still alot of WWII era building there.[/img]

Taken Saturday afternoon at Chino...

I don't own my own airplane, yet, but I do have this on the back of my car, it's gotta count for something, right?

THanks I am glad that you liked them. The General was a lot of fun to rebuild. The Mustang, I bought in that condition. It is a fun car. Moments after that photo was taken the PA ANG guys yelled at me for taking pics with it, then told me that they liked the car.

What is it with chicks and Mustangs?

Seems to me you ask a girl about what classic car they like and you'd swear the only car ever built was a mustang.

My wife is eyeballing a pukey green GT500.

You are right about the Mustang. One would think the General Lee (which is owned by myself, my dad, and my uncle) would grab more attention. But it doesn't. As a matter in fact, when I showed it to a girl I was dating at the tiem we finished it, she said, "That is the ugliest car I have ever seen. Why is it orange?" I almost passed out. After 3 years of putting it back together to hear that. For some reason the Mustang does get more attention form the ladies, and the guys all love the General. I have never made it to that one, but I have been to Mopar Madness in Carlise, PA. It is a big get together.

Alright alright alright, hold the phone...

Now, I do like the mustang, it's ONE of my favorites, but not necessarily my very favorite...

There's also the Oldsmobile 442, the Plymouth Barracuda and the Ford Fairlane that I like very much. So . . . although I like the mustang I wouldn't say that I am your "typical woman" that only likes the Mustang. It's one of many. I have plenty of love for all things muscle car.

What if you could only own ONE classic car for the remainder of your life. Only one that you would have to live out the rest of your day with. What would it be? Hmmm?

Oh and by the way just so there is no confusion. As much as the Pony crowd would like to believe, The Ford Mustang is NOT a musclecar.

I suppose if I could pick any classic car, knowing it would run forever, etc... (in my ideal world) I think I'd pick a 1964 Thunderbird. My old boss has one that is just absolutely gorgeous - really fun to drive.
