Larry Russell and I got it ready and flew it back to CFM. We had a mag failure and had to stop in Tulsa. The next day we continued to Dallas. Jim met up with us north of Dallas in the P51. I don't remember him flying with us in Topeka. Could have been someone else, but I don't recall.

Doug,

Do y'all have any plans to fly the -111 anytime? I sure do miss the CAF's. Got to fly on it a couple times as a thankyou... I am not a hotwater 12 guy, but for some reason that airplane could have changed my mind!!

Bill,

When Ronnie Gardner sat in the 109 and couldn't get the canopy to close without outside assistance, I'm sure that the expression on his face was relief, and not disappointment.

Lightning,

These are the best I could get with my camera, and the fact that it is impossible to get my 6ft 220lb torso any closer than the bottom of the seat:

And a couple for Eric, since he seems to have a fondness for things that are round and see-thru.

Before anyone asks, The plexiglas wheel covers were on the T-6 when we got it and Mr. Cavanaugh liked them. And since the paint scheme and inside wasn't authentic, he decided to leave them as a novelty. Our other T-6 is about as accurate as can be.
The TBM turret works, but since everyone ran the batteries down playing with it, some of the wiring was removed to avoid temptation.

I wasn’t being facetious in my previous post in this thread about them.

They look great, and I wanted to fabricate a set for the one we had a long time ago. The only problem, it seemed, was that they tended to crack.

That’s an outstanding paint job, BTW.
