This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

You're not going to claim the KC-135 "Vomit Comit" out front?
Fri Jan 05, 2007 8:55 am
It's a can't see the forest for the trees thing.
You drive by something everyday and it just kind of fades from memory.
Yes, it should have been listed under statics. It is a real KC-135 first and Vomit Comet second.
I guess if you REALLY want to stretch we could add the Super Guppy as it started life as a C-97 !

KYIP
definitely flying outta Willow Run (though not at the moment):
B-17G - Yankee Lady
B-25D - Yankee Warrior
C-47D - Yankee Doodle Dandy
Stinson Relieant - Yankee Friendship
Pretty sure these fly out of KYIP
P-51D Gentleman Jim (I think 'Jim is at KYIP. Old Crow was, but 'Jim may be out of Oakland County.)
Stinson OY-1 Sentinal
I'm reasonably sure exist at the field, but I'm not positive:
T-28 (there's one in navy markings, not sure whose it is.)
L-39
Not flying:
Everything in the Yankee Airpark
Dehaviland DH-4 Caribou.
Supposedly the Caribou could be restored to fly, but has been on the ground for many years. I'd like to see her up again, she's got honest-to-goodness real engines in her, not those whiney turbo-props.
Someone else can come along and correct / expand my list. I know it's incomplete.

Chico,
There's no "a" in Sentinel.

The guys who do the Thunder Over Michigan web site need this spelling lesson too (two years in a row).
KYIP (flying only):
OY-1 (L-5E-1)
T-28 (2)
T-34B
TS-11
P-51D
AT-6D
AT-19 (V77) - YAM
B-17G - YAM
B-25D - YAM
C-47D - YAM
L-39
