Since people seem to think that the off-topic section is for political discussion, something that is frowned upon, I have temporarily closed the section. ANY political discussions in any other forum will be deleted and the user suspended. I have had it with the politically motivated comments.

Sorry, but I'll have to call you on this one. No where in the constitution does it say that before a president or vice president gets the US involved in a war do they or their family have to have ever served. Did FDR serve? How about Clinton before he sent troops to Bosnia or planes to bomb an aspirin factory?

Must be a sham trial since there were no WMDs in Iraq... Sorry, I couldn't resist!
On a lighter note, do you think these folks are getting a fair trial and the punishment will be just?

BDK, You may know the gas attacks on Iraqis were a number of years before the invasion by Bush. I believe I am correct that nerve gas stocks were destroyed by Saddam under UN orders long before Bush invaded. In any event Bush went on tv and said he and the US govt knew that Iraq had a nuclear weapons program as well as biolgical program. Both were Republican lies, maintained until it became too ludicrous. Same as the claim that Saddam was with Al Queda, when in fact he did not like other terrorist in Iraq. What would have happened, if that rare thing honesty had prevailed and Bush had simply said we need to invade to dispose an evil dictator? I thought he was doing it to appropriate their oil, but we don't seem to have profited by that, as gas prices tripled under Bush. As for as a fair trial, you have Shiite thugs trying Sunni thugs, but at least they got some version of a trial. I don't think i'll be taking up their cause on a humanitarian basis.
