I was wondering about the PNG stuff but aren't they still working on one late model 47 or did they get that one done.

I guess not asking about the ones that HARS are rebuilding eh? I think from memory they have 2 now but not sure.

P-47N 44-90447/N1345B American Airpower Museum

The American Airpower Museum’s P-47 I thought it was a "D" not an "N" model. If so I thought the wing tips on the N's where squared off. Jacky's are rounded. I know someone can clear this up.

Also I remember that Yanks Air Museum in CA is a P-47M. In the registry is is under the D listings. Is that correct?

It is a YP-47M (pre-production). I think that the serial number corresponds to a D-model however since that is the fuselage the factory made it from.

There are three razorback P-47Ds at Rialto from PNG. At least one of them is currently being restored.

Yes there are two P-47 razorbacks being built at Sydney by Rob Greinert (HARS). The first fuselage & empennage is nearly complete, but wings are still to be started.

So we can look forward to 5 new flying razorback P-47s in the future to join Planes of Fame's currently flying example, and 42-25068 "Little Demon" which flew until she went to England and a life of perpetual storage.

So how many jugs are flying in the world then?
There's "No Guts No Glory" being flown by TFC out of Duxford but I dont know whether there are any in Europe.
Any ideas?

The Fighter Collection (Duxford)
Planes of Fame (California) - razorback
Jeff Clyman (New York)
Jack Erickson (Oregon)
Lone Star Flight Museum (Texas)
John Schoffner (Tennessee)
Neal Melton (Tennessee)
Butch Schroeder (Illinois)
Bill Klaers (California)

The Brazilian Air Force Museum has one that was flown a few times several years back but I haven't heard if its being flown since. Bob Pond's used to fly regularly but I haven't heard of it flying since the move to Palm Springs back in mid 1990s. Kalamazoo's is grounded.

A bit off topic - does anyone remember a P-47 for sale on barnstormers a year or two ago? It was an ex South American plane - seem like it was in Arizona and they were asking .5 Mil for it. Wasn't in too bad of shape either.
