Here's the message I got back.

Thanks for your message.
I am sure there are lots of rumours surrounding TFC aircraft.
All I can say is for verification of any rumours please keep visiting our
website for updates on all our aircraft.

What secret? Maybe the photo was done in Photoshop and the engine run never really happened and the plane does not exist????? :?

sounds like what they wanted to say was "we're currently still pissed about the Beau, so kindly mind your own business thanks".

at least that's how I read it....

Beautiful bird!

And it is sooooo refreshing to see a P-40 without a shark's mouth painted onto it.

IIRC, there was a flurry of activity on this and "the other" board when rumours spread that TFC was going to offer their Beau for sale; I think they finally had to issue a statement basically asking everyone to quiet down lest sensitive negoatiations were tainted, or something to that effect.

Others will know more than I to be sure.

A simple "Yes" or "no" answer would have been nice. Or even a "we're trying to get it here but aren't sure yet."". I don't understand the secrecy. Surely, with only 5 months before the show, they'd have some idea of it's status.
I know I'll catch some grief about my "opinion" so...let 'er rip! :hide: :gib:

TFCs website is now regularly updated with what is going on.Joining Friends of the Fighter collection will give you updates via a journal, the fighter log which gives plenty of background information on the collection.
Indeed the latest edtion states the P-40B will be at legends.
TFC has a small workforce, and we are more interested in sorting out aircraft and airshows than listening to all the rumours surrounding us.
If all our time was spent answering each individual email, letter, and telephone request we have, i can guarantee you we would not even have a Flying Legends.
I hope this clears things up,and hope many of you can make the show.
Best wishes to all
Bwb

I say that's "Cool."
I can totally understand how it could get annoying for a small staff to have lots of attention. Just gotta watch the attitude portrayed by the response so those who don't understand don't take it the wrong way. It's sooooo easy to type a quick or standard response and have it taken totally opposite of what was meant.
Keep up the good work!

Ryan

I'll have to go with Mudge on this one.
The response he got took much more effort than yes or no which was all he was looking for. The world has enough secret societies. Asking if a airplane is going to be at a certain airshow isn't like asking for the codes to launch the nukes :?

bentwingbomber...Sounds as if you're part of the TFC staff. Right? Thanks for the "inside" info. FYI, I've been a FOTFC since '02. Member #1944F.
Mrs. Mudge and I will definitely be there. (She keeps DRAGGING me all over the place to these things. )

ps...That's why I keep sending her to work every day. So we can afford this stuff. :drink3:
