Thats all folks. Hope you all enjoyed the awsome views of what Walter has or had out at his place. Iwas out to his place a long time ago and he talked my ear off. He took me and a friend of mine down a path that ended up being the wing spar of the B-36. He told me that he sprayed all the planes with oil to help save them.

It's just a shame, that this man has been given such a hard time, over the years.
He's my hero, for what he has been able to do.
I would have done the same thing, if I were in his place.
At least the planes he has, never got scrapped.

Does anyone have recent restoration photos of the F-82 that was at Walter's place?

Many many thanks for posting these. This batch appears to be mid-late 70s...my shots from the early 80s show wearier-looking paint on everything.
Re the F-82, C&P Aviation is very private, but there have been a few pix of the Twin Mustang in mags over the years. Maybe try a search of the threads here on WIX, too...the former Soplata F-82 gets referred to a lot.

While on the subject, anyone knows what happened to the DC-7 N757Z that was purchased by Soplata around August 1978? I suspect it was broken up on site (Ortner Airport?) before removal, but maybe some major parts survived?

a 1/4 of the fuselage survives from the cockpit to before where the left side entry door was. its stuffed with junk & is up on a pile of junk at least 8 to 10 feet high.

Here's Walt's previous BT-13. Not much progress to report other than adding bits to the inventory. It's scheduled to become the main project here as soon as the N2S-3 is finished.

a26 invader........ what is your interest in the ortners?? i live about a mile from their. i wrote a 2 part article on the ortners in 2002 in air classics magazine. i'm your man for any questions.
