Given (by Customs) to the Australian War Memorial. Currently on display in the Memorial, Canberra - still in its original paint.

It's on a pole (booo) but near a balcony (hurrah) and part of the amazing 'Son et Lumiere' 'Striking by Night' hourly show featuring it and the AWM's Lancaster 'G for George'.

If you like Messerschmitts, they've also got a 163 and 262 in the same hall.

Now on display at the Australian War Memorial, still wearing its original paint from WWII.

Here is a picture of the ME 109G given to NAA. The caption reads:

A USAAF pilot runs up this Bf 109G's Daimler-Benz engine to full power at Mines field in Los Angeles. The aircraft was made flyable and given to North American Aviation for test work. The aircraft is finished in USAAF markings and appears to be painted an overall uniform color.

Any guess's as to which 109 this is?
