Hi Wixers, I heard a rumor that they may end the races due to insurance cost! Hope this isn't true. Please set my mind at ease. Thanks, Rob

Where on earth did you hear that rumor? I talk with a couple of race teams on a very regular basis, and nothing has been mentioned about that at all. The only thing that will threaten Reno in the near future is all the housing developments encroaching on the area.

The thing that definitely scares me about Reno is the Development around the field.I experienced a similar situation in the mid 1980's.I used to sell Dayco racing fuel at Riverside raceway. It was too cool, get paid to fill up race cars, cruise the pits and watch the races from the top of the Dayco semi-trailer.I knew that it was all over when they built a Mervyns by turn 6.Mervyns and racing cars dont mix for long.I'm dreading the appearance of the first Mervyns at Stead field. Tim

The Nevada ANG is about to start flying alot of missions out of Stead as well. The residents have already started filing noise complaints etc. I hope that doesn't lead to the field being closed in the future either.
