Well sorry U had to sell a couple of buicks during that, still fun though When Gary Austin worked over here,he had a borrowed Yak52 that he took me up in and pulled something like 6-7 g's and I had a blast! It was like a big ol rollercoaster ride to me! The only time I had to sell buick's was one year going to Reno in the back of the Fury when that hot sun over the bumpy desert of Nevada  I was prepared so didn't make to big a mess!

Yes, it's the largest hangar on the field..at the NE corner or thr property.
A very nice facility.

The NE corner puts you in a farm field. Did you mean the SE corner? There is a building there which appears to have access to the grass strip.

The Building on the SW side is the FBO. Across the runway to slightly to the east is the CAF bldg. It has a big parking lot.

Several blocks NE of city center. It's the city's largets park and is near their Fairgrounds. Also they have a UH-1H "Huey" and M-60 tank on display.

I think I found the T-33 at 32 29 03.12 N 100 24 36.91 W. Is it pole mounted. Is the UH-1 near-by?

I THINK it's on t he ground. The Huey and tank are in the same small compound.

Other items... I think the C-119/F-102 at Granbury is actually the now defunct Pate Museum. If Goodfellow has an HH-43, I think that's whhere they got it from.

So the Pate Museum is now closed? When did that happen? Are any of the aircraft still there?

It closed in 1999-2000. I know that because a friend, the curator at the Dyess Museum, was trying to get some stuff from there.

There is a T-33 at a VFW post in San Angelo.

I thought there is one at a high school. I can’t find it myself. Is the one at high school the same as the VFW (possibly next-door neighbors)? Or are there two separate aircraft? Do you happen to have a street address or coordinates? I am not having much luck with these T-33s.

It's pole mounted alongside the building. I don't have an address...but it's on the south side of the major hi-way that enters town from the north...it then swings to an E-W direction. The plane faces north. It was there in 2004. I can't imagine why they'd move it...it looked pretty unloved.

The airport at Brownwood has an F-4 and F-111 on display ...and I believe an A-7 as well.

I have the F-4 and F-111. Where is the A-7? Is it near the other two?

I thought it was. I remember t he 111 and Phanptom, but my memory tells me there was something else there....I might be wrong.

There is also a UH-1B on I-20 just east of Midland at a military surplus store.

I’ll need more info for this one. Helos are very difficult to pick out in the satellite images. What is the name of the store? Street address or maybe even coordinates.

Sorry, it was 50 feet off I-20 at an exit. On the North side of the freeway, Maybe 30 40 miles from Midland.

And A UH-1H at a Vietnam memorial at Big Spring...along with the museum at the old Webb AFB.

I have the one at the memorial. Is the UH-1 at Webb part of the Hangar 25 museum or is it displayed outside someplace?
Just the memorial. All the museum AC are inside...I mentioned the museum just to let you know it was there.

Some notes on San Angelo:

The T-33 on a pole is next to the Central High School AFJROTC building at the corner of Caddo St and Park Dr. (31.27.56.29N, 100.26.55.94W), and is quite visible on Google Earth.

There is no T-33 next to the VFW.

There is an HH-43 at Goodfellow AFB. It is a display at one of the FIre School Museum pavilions.

Others:

The UH-1B on a pole is at Stanton, TX, just off of I-20.

The tank near the T-33 in the park in Sweetwater is not an M-60. It is an M-103.

Addendum to the UH-1 at Stanton - it's at 32.08.20N, 101.48.27W, at the SR137 exit from I-20, North side of the Interstate.

Never heard of anything in the Houston area by that name. A collection with 11 airframes would be hard to hide.

RE the Corpus Christi, Tx. PBY. This aircraft N4934H, BuNo 9838, ser. CV272 has moved around a lot the past decade. It was the gate guard at Corpus NAS for a while and then about 1996 quietly disappeared, resurfacing at the now defunct museum in Rio Hondo, Tx. way down south. About a year-year and a half ago it was acquired by the Tyler Historic Aviation Military Museum (they might have changed the name a little bit) and is now in storage in Tyler, Tx. awaiting static restoration.

I live 30 minutes north of Waco and I want to address some of your questions:

"#70: Apparently there is an F-86 displayed in Waco. If so where exactly is it?"

-I've never seen or heard of an F-86 anywhere in Waco in the last 10 years. I don't think this is accurate at all.

"#71: There may be a T-29 displayed at an airport near Waco. If so which airport? Where exactly is it?"

-There is a T-29 at the Texas State Technical College campus/airport which is the site of the former James Connally Air Force Base. It's behind a chain link fence on school property and is apparently used as a training tool for the tech. college. I'll upload a photo of it this evening or tomorrow.

"#72: Are any aircraft displayed at the Waco Technical College?"

-No. There used to be a T-33 on display there a buddy told me but he said it disappeared sometime in the late 80's/early 90's. Anyone know where it went? I hope it wasn’t scrapped :(

Also, on the a/c at Newman Park in Sweetwater, TX – yes there is a T-33A and a UH-1H (along with the M-103 - good eyes!). Neither are on a pole, both are sitting side by side inside a fence. A few years ago the fence was in bad shape and the Huey was unfortunately heavily vandalized (most of the plexi-glass was smashed and interior bits and pieces stolen, ugh I’ve never understood the mentality of a vandal but that’s another story). It’s been repaired somewhat crudely and recently repainted but doesn’t look too good in my opinion. The T-bird isn’t in the best shape either and needs some TLC also. If I lived closer to Sweetwater… Again I’ll post photos of these birds tonight or tomorrow morning. Thanks!

Here's a couple of pics of the Waco Texas State Technical College T-29B that I commented on in my previous post. The close-up of the tail shows the original USAF serial 51-07901 (complete with a bird in flight, ha!) that you can still read despite the black paint.
