okay we have the Curtiss family:
the models P-1, P-2, P-3, P-5, P-6, PW-8, P-10, P-11, P-17, P-20, P-21, P-22, P-23, Navy F3C and P-36 (incl. export models) were named Hawk with variants as Gulfhawk. The P-40 series had the names Warhawk, Tomahawk, Kittyhawk, the XSC-1 was the Seahawk

then there is:

BAe Hawk
Hawker Seahawk

Grumman E-2 Hawkeye

F-117 Nighthawk

the new UAV Northrop-Grumman Global Hawk

Helo series H-60 Black Hawk with variants as Jay Hawk, Sea Hawk, Pave Hawk

Goshawk was the steam-cooled Kestrel variant, IIRC.

translated to German it's "Falke" and "Habicht"

so we have Focke Wolf Fw-187 Falke

and the DFS Habicht glider (incl. short winged variant "Stummel-Habicht")
the Me-163S (Two-seater) was called Habicht

What about the F-16 Fighting Falcon family then ?


and Hawk in French is "Falcon"

so we have the Dassault Falcon biz-jet family, too

My good old mate Man on the Fence pointed me in the direction of this forum so...HURRAH!!!!....here I am!

On the subject of Hawks, please find me a Miles Hawk in any condition. OK, my Magister is described as a Hawk Major but it is a different aircraft to the gorgeous pre-war Hawk Major a la G-ADWT that I have to have but they won't sell it to me.

Maggie, Falcon and Ryan PT22 will emerge from winter maintenance looking better than ever - which is more than I can say for my bank balance...
