Since people seem to think that the off-topic section is for political discussion, something that is frowned upon, I have temporarily closed the section. ANY political discussions in any other forum will be deleted and the user suspended. I have had it with the politically motivated comments.

Pyrex

Sokolove, who told you NASA invented PYREX? Was it a White House spokesman, or one of OJ's lawyers? My parents had Pyrex back in the 50's, long before NASA. Google says the name Pyrex was patented by Corning Glass in 1915. Bet they did it without a massive influx of tax dollars also.

This brings up a good point, if we want it to be a warbird, maybe we should use our Space shuttle to shoot down some other country's space shuttle, oh yeah, the other countries don't have one. I keep over looking these little points.

budget

Sun Aug 26, 2007 4:42 pm

I brought up the idea that perhaps some of the Nasa budget might be better used for something that would provide more real and direct benefit to most Americans. This apparently is worse than mentioning the Emperors lack of clothes, in some people's mind. I got to thinking how much is the budget so I looked it up, $16.4 Billion in 07.

Money well spent. Thanks for pointing that out!

Love it or hate it you have to admit the following image (taken about two weeks ago) is pretty neat...at least I think so...

If we cut out the school lunch program and foreign aid we could get a shuttle replacement.
