The step is cable actuated from the tail gear. When the tail gear retracts, the step retracts, when the gear extends, the step extends. No ground crew is needed. This is a feature found on the F4U-5 Corsairs.

I think it is correct, relative to the wing sweep and the angle of the photo in relation to the wing cord.

I'm pretty sure the point of the star should point to the leading edge of the wing not the trailing edge, put then again there probably is not a T.O. showing how to paint 70 year old star and meatball insignias on F-16s...

No but there were people involved with repainting their static F-4 who would know,...if they had asked. Wait till I point this out to the Chief I was working with, he's gonna have a field day !

It's Friday ! Could this be the right time for more pictures ?
I started each day in the warbird park. The "runway" shots were all taken from the right hand far end of the display line. ( opposite end of the field )Legacy flights were shot from a point just in front of the P-38 ( well back from the crowd line ). And then back to the warbird park in time for the after show rides program !
I therefore didn't shoot some of each show and possibly only 50 oct of the static stuff. Waiting for the sun to come out / people to step out of the shot can be rather time consuming ~ but I've had practice at being patient as Oshkosh !
I was using a Canon 350D ( Digital Rebel ? 8 Mega pixel ). All pics are taken in RAW mode and converted. Lens are Canon 17-40 mm F.4L and the 100-400 IS L ~ using a monopod to support the weight !
And now ....... its BOMBER time !
CAF's B-24A Liberator .....
Lone Star Flight Museum's B-25 Mitchell .....
LSFM's B-17G ~ Thunderbird .....
Thats all folks ~ Until next time of course !

I looked at some ground shots of the F-16 and some flying shots I took...the star is definately not aligned correctly, nor are the edges even at the right angles! Looked good flying though.
Gary, nice work on '927. It was extremely cool to see her once again, and the transformation is gorgeous.
I'll get my pics up ASAP. I have a few decent ones.
