First - let's not start indefensibly general racist mud-slinging, thanks.
Racist? Don't know about you but I haven't read any "racist" comments in this thread. Unless you consider the comments of someone who's obviously predjudiced against the Mustang
It was a response to post 2: "Typical Aussie mindset!" - Just because one (insert national here) posts a winge after a bad morning doesn't mean everyone from (insert nation here) is the same... Mmmm? I have passport stamps for visiting the land of Mustang, I think.
Someone sent me a PM regarding my remark calling
some engineers tight. I have the utmost respect for most of the engineers I've met and discussed aviation with; but it remains firsthand experience that many won't fess up to pay for a quality magazine, which they like to read, and reckon has a good
use in the
trade. It's their money, but as someone who is trying to make the magazine (
Warbirds Worldwide in this case) it's just one of the ironies.
proped up - I don't know when I've heard such a passive-aggressive intro on WIX. I hope it's because you don't realise how it comes over.
As you know, there's time-wasters and idiots everywhere; the hangar is one of the easier places to keep them out of - try public service or retail work for some real pains to complain about.
Most of WIX would agree with you about the 'problem' of people who choose the wrong moment to bother the engineer / pilot / controller etc, but you didn't really put it over, did you?
I'm famously indifferent to the P-51D; it was a professional position (working with a P-51 historian might do that to anyone) but I don't disparage those who like them; what's the point? As has been said, we start with what we know and go from there.
Why not go out and come back again? You might find that most of us and our lives are going fine, thanks, and you'd be welcome to join and play nicely. (Or if not nicely, at least be entertaining.)
Cheers,
