I bought my first store purchased computer, from COMPUSA back in 1997.
Through the years, I found that visiting the store was always a lesson in patience. One guy I met there, who really knew his stuff about computers. The rest, were basically winging it, hoping that I would be dazzled by their b.s and buy the product so that they would earn their commission for the sale.
Upon asking more pointed questios, they almost never had the right answer.
Around 1999 - 2000 I thought that this company could not last much longer, given their business model; they were always pushing the extended warranties, even when I specifically requested that they did not.
So, I stopped buying from them.
Later, when they brought T.V.s and stereos to their store, I knew that the store was doomed. What surprises me, is that they managed to last this long.
There were a couple of web-sites from their employees, where they complained about all the behind the scenes doings of management.
So, I agree 100%, good riddance!
Now, if only Circuit City could follow the same path . . . they fired all of their old employees, so that they would not have to pay them higher salaries, and replaced them with lower waged people. I know it is common business practice in a capitalist economy, but still, their lack of respect for their employees, has meant that I do not conduct any business with them.
End of rant. : )

Tulio
