2nd Sgt Manuel Alacantar who made 3 combat jumps with the 82nd ABD before being discharged to join the MEAF's 201st FS poses with the unit insignia painted on the tail of a Japanese Nell bomber at Clark Field in aug 1945

I believe that the wing section came from an Oscar. Probably abandoned at the airfield, since the Mexican 201st Squadron did not engage in air to air combat, and did not have any air to air victories.

The caption said insignia painted on tail of wrecked Japanese bomber.
Based on that it looks like a Nell?

Cool pic!

I would have to agree that it is a fighter type wing considering the meatball on it with the white surround.
