Yep, I saw the pics and thought too much meat was damaged to shorten the prop. Glad to hear Byam was able
to save it. I also caught your inferance regarding the engine that babysteps were being taken. :roll:

I've been meaning to ask you a querstion. When we had our little hurricane skeedaddle down here a
few years ago.. did you fly into LSFM(or near about), a few days before the storm hit?

I just got the U-11A props back from S.A. Prop Service and they look great. All the inspection paperwork, for the AD, is in order as well.

I don't know of anyone in the wing who uses any other prop shop. They just brought the prop back for the Yellow Rose and hung it on the newly overhauled left engine a couple of days ago.

Just got the props hung on the C-47 yesterday out of SA Prop. Look good we will see in a couple of days when we turn em.

I've been using SA prop for over 25 years. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Carl Byum was my teacher in A & P school and we use them for newer stuff. They just didn't seem to want to mess with the older stuff once Carl retired. We drive the props 325 miles one way to take them to Jim at SA Prop. He does things the way I like them done. I've never had a paper work problem, in fact he has gone back and replaced tags that have been lost on several occasions. We do 4-5 props a year with him.

Getting back to the O.T We havent had any luck with contact from San Antonio. We have a kind offer of a unit from the UK on a loan in order that a new set can be machined.

Re: hurricane....I'm assuming Katrina...but regardless....no it was not me. There is a civilian replica B model painted as Rhodesian out of Polly Ranch that from a distance or in the air apparently looks black like mine....but his is two dark OD greens in camo pattern. Could have been him. He does a bunch with Auxiliary Coast Guard so was probably involved in hurricane stuff too.
