This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I just read a very good post. My question is this: If there was an airplane from WW2, or any era, that we could have displayed in a museum or in flying condition, what warbird would you like to see today either flying or exhibited today?

Easy. One of the aircraft flown in combat - either a Albatros D.IV or Fokker Dr.1 - by Manfred von Richthofen. Interestingly, one of each was still in existence under being destroyed in WWII.

Pre-war: B-10/B-12 XB-15, XB-19, P-35, XFM/YFM-1, TBD.
WWII: Halifax, Stirling, B-32, B-26, A-20, Betty, FW-200, JU-88, P-61.
Post-war: B-35/B-49, B-36, B-47, B-58, Valiant, Victor, Vulcan, Lincoln.
I like bombers (and some fighters, too). I'd also like to see all the above IN FLIGHT. My personal dream team!

B-36 in flying condition would be a sight I would really enjoy. 6 in formation, I wouldn't be able to walk for a week...
