The idea is to teach people about the history of their local heroes and what makes a base special. The types of aircraft used in the history of that base, and other lessons. At the time that the P-38 was put up there, that was still a pretty common way to honor a hero. .

That is where you are wrong, when the P-38 was put on the pole, there was a outrage then. I was active in warbirds at the time and remember it very well.
Not many people on here can say they have spent over half of thier lives working on Warbirds,
