Tom, are you referring to the camera shown in FAH 619s post or the camera mounted on the Ryan ? No argument from me that the camera only picture is Japanese.

Tom:
Will you be kind to take a pic of your camera and upload it here on WIX to take a close look?

Sorry Tom, That's a Hythe Gun Camera. The rectangular box between the
reciever and the barrel is the film body of the camera.

Gun Camera Folks:
Here it is! The 8mm Japanese Type 89/Kai2. (L/S view).(pic 1of4).Tks to the excellent research of Tom Friedman.

That is clearly the same unit as the one in the picture posted. ( Camera only ). It still doesn't identify the camera gun mounted on the Ryan. That unit is completely different from Tom's camera gun.

Tom That gun looks good! Where did you find it? Could you give us one Dinah to go with that gun?

RickH:
I agree with you. A preliminary view of Tom's pics show his gun to be similar to the one mounted on the Ryan but not the same type. Tom will translate the Japanese ID plate later on for us and tell us the details.
The pic shown before (photograph only) of the WW II vintage Konica 4.5 looks very similar to Toms's artifact! Will post a front view pic of the lenses soon! machine gun camera buff/FAH 619
