I'm showing my age but what about Jim Albright aka Jet Jackson The Flying Commando or Captain Midnight as our American friends know him. He was played in the 1950's television series by the late Richard Webb.

Didn't know he was a, um, bush pilot... :D

How about Dennis Hopper as Barry Seal in "Double Crossed"? Since seeing it, I think of him every time I hear, "Say cheese".

Frank Towns. 'Nuff said.

Absolutely. I'm glad someone mentioned Captain Towns. I was just going through this thread with him in mind. Of course I'm talking about the novel version or Jimmy Stewart, not so much the Dennis Quaid version. The novel is fascinating; painting a picture of Frank Towns' career and how he ended up hauling oil workers through the desert.

*edit* Oh, and 'Wild Bill' Kelso

Cheers,
Matt
