Roger. That's why I carefully referred to you as "Naval Aviators." You guys are much admired by me.

All AO's need to take their seat and remain quiet for the duration of the flight.

Do ya think that helped the Navy decide to phase out in-flight Ordies and make the IFT's do your job instead?

Hey-hey-hey......I wasn't there for that!
Stupid people and their stupid decisions. P-3 minus AO = no one to blame anymore

Oh, there's ALWAYS someone to blame. Like the pilot. TACCO's love blaming the pilot. I found out that the debriefings went a lot quicker if we just stood up and said "Yeah, that was my bad....". Took the pressure off the guys in the tube.

(guys, you use a motor to start the engine...)

Everybody involved in this business knows that motors are electric and engines are IC, but just as Naval Aviators call carriers "boats" even though they know they're ships--it's a kind of back-handed attempt to show they're pilots and are above such silly maritime differentiations--EVERYBODY in the car-racing business (I'm a pilot but an automotive journalist) calls engines "motors." Calling a racecar's engine "an engine" shows that you're an overly knowledgeable outsider. Strange and silly, but that's the way it is, and pedantically trying to correct them demonstrates the same thing.

Uh...for what it's worth, we're called Naval Aviators because were 'better than pilots'. 8)

Us Air Force Jocks call them Flying Squids ;)

When the Olympics start letting the Silver Medalist stand on the top level of the podium above the Gold Medal winner, I'll take that.

Until then....Navy Wings: Gold. Air Force Wings: Silver.

It's the Jack & Brad show.

We do two shows nightly at the Copa. Try the veal and be sure to tip your waitresses.
