Dear « airnutz » and « Martin »,

The name of the association which makes fly HB-RCF, is « Morane Charlie Fox » !!!

Cheer "Martin" for your Web site on Mustang, fantastic!!!

No, Mr. Jean Noan did not have plans to build Caudron 760 but it reconstituted these plans thanks to only two photographs !!!

Oakey Doakey Eric!! Journalists...errr, reporters, err...wouldn't error
the facts, would they? Nice website Eric of Alsace Aviation!

As for the one often referred to as Morane MS 406, it is an EKW D3801,
HB-RCF, owners-Association Morane Charlie Fox and living in Switzerland.
Thank-you Eric and Martin!

As far as I understand it now, if it was a real MS 406, it would have a
retractable radiator as its most notable feature....unless someone went
out of their way to build a 'really faithful' 406 replica.

Eric Janssone, how about Dewoitine's. Any current progress of the
damaged Dewoitine 520, that SteveT mentioned?

A couple more of the Morane at La Ferte (probably my favourite aeroplane of the 2005 season - simply gorgeous!)

And the Hawk 75, with Stephen Grey doing what he does best.

Hi « airnutz »,

Thank you for your encouragements for my Web site "Alsace Historic Flight" !

Yes you are right, the MS 406 it is an EKW D3801 (MS builds under licence in Switzerland), it has the great differences to have a stronger engine and a no retractable radiator in addition to the version of French origin.

For Dewoitine 520 that SteveT mentioned, crashed in the Eighties in Airshow in France, killing its pilot, late Colonel Bove…

Wreck was recovered only the tail of the plane, now exposed on French Air Force Base of Luxeuil (East France).

But there still exists in France three Dewoitine 520, unfortunately in statics:

- With « Musée de l’Air » in Le Bourget (Paris)
- With « Conservatoire de l’Air » in Bordeaux
- With « Musée de l’Aéronavale » in Rochefort (West France)

These three machines belong to the Museum of the Air of Le Bourget, you can consider it regrettable that not only one is in in-flight status !!!

NB: there are two more survivors: one at the Swiss AF Museum, and one at the French Museum Le Bourget - plus there exist some substantial components (that might lead to another rebuild project).

Yep, haven't seen the Swiss AF example, but saw JDK's snaps of
Le Bourget "throwing open its doors" of their storage and future projects...
Of these 3 D-3801, do we have the Serial #'s ?
Thanks Martin !!

Edited...EJ said tail only survived..

Eric, is there a website for the Musée de l’Aéronavale?

Alright, I'm gonna go off topic for a minute here, but I heard that there was a Miles Magister at La Ferte Alais. Is it still there?

Sun Oct 23, 2005 4:45 pm

Dear Wolverine,

Not there is no Web site for the Musée de l’Aéronavale

Never intended to speak about Miles Magister in Ferté Alais, sorry !!!
