As for the one often referred to as Morane MS 406, it is an EKW D3801,
HB-RCF, owners-Association Morane Charlie Fox and living in Switzerland.

As far as I understand it now, if it was a real MS 406, it would have a
retractable radiator as its most notable feature....unless someone went
out of their way to build a 'really faithful' 406 replica. :roll:

A couple more of the Morane at La Ferte (probably my favourite aeroplane of the 2005 season - simply gorgeous!)

And the Hawk 75, with Stephen Grey doing what he does best.

Yes you are right, the MS 406 it is an EKW D3801 (MS builds under licence in Switzerland), it has the great differences to have a stronger engine and a no retractable radiator in addition to the version of French origin.

For Dewoitine 520 that SteveT mentioned, crashed in the Eighties in Airshow in France, killing its pilot, late Colonel Bove…

Wreck was recovered only the tail of the plane, now exposed on French Air Force Base of Luxeuil (East France).

But there still exists in France three Dewoitine 520, unfortunately in statics:

- With « Musée de l’Air » in Le Bourget (Paris)
- With « Conservatoire de l’Air » in Bordeaux
- With « Musée de l’Aéronavale » in Rochefort (West France)

These three machines belong to the Museum of the Air of Le Bourget, you can consider it regrettable that not only one is in in-flight status !!!

Yep, haven't seen the Swiss AF example, but saw JDK's snaps of
Le Bourget "throwing open its doors" of their storage and future projects...
Of these 3 D-3801, do we have the Serial #'s ?
