HURRYI'm scrapping engine nacelles today- Lockheed Lodestar

Sun Jan 22, 2012 1:56 pm

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY. I'm scrapping the remains of the engine nacelles from a 1942 Lockheed C60 Lodestar. I'm cutting up the aluminum skin to use for nose art, but items such as the oil cooler intakes and some other panels will be up for grabs. I'm hoping that someone who actually needs the landing gear will contact me today because I plan on running what is left over across the scales tomorrow. Some pieces make great souvenirs, I just have an entire backyard full of "souvenirs" already and I am willing to spread the wealth to fellow WIXers. Keep in mind that this stuff has corrosion from the salt water bath it took when it went for a swim in Hurricane Ike. I'm willing to remove the landing gear and hold them for a while if someone is serious about them, but I really have to get the remainder of the stuff off of the trailer tomorrow.
Jason Barnett (713) 817-8997 give me a call even if you just want a small part as a souvenir. Come on down to Galena Park TX(Houston)ImageImageImageImageImage

Because of severe damage that was inflicted on the fuselage while in the junkyard, my thoughts now have turned to find some volunteers to help me patch the holes in the skins and turn her into a giant car. I've been toying with the idea of turning a T28 Trojan or AT-6 Texan fuselage into a drivable car for sometime now and since this one Lodestar is already so far gone, I'm going to give it a go. I'll be able to haul just about anything if I can convert one of the gaping holes in the side into a cargo door. The nose is so beat up, that I'm considering cutting it off, turning it upside down and making the front end look more like a B25, just because I love B25's. Any volunteers out there? I can pop rivet the crud out of anything, but I would like to have some help with flush rivets. Keep in mind that is only a quick rough sketch.ImageImageImage
