Was not able to stop at Mercer today, too dark. I was able to see the T-29 (sans tail) through the trees from the highway, so hopefully she and the F-84 last a bit longer. Will definitely be stopping on the way back, as lighting should be optimal for photography then.

Saw the posts about the aircraft at Mercer Field in Calhoun. The USAF Museum in Dayton does own the F-84 and has put the aircraft on loan to the Marietta Museum of History Aviation Wing. A group of volunteers (mostly ex-military and Lockheed folks) will be going up there tomorro morning to start diasmanteling the aircraft for movement to Marietta. We went up last week and cut all the vegitation from around it. If any of you are in the Atlanta area and want to help with our aircraft restorations, come out to the Aviation Wing co-located with Dobbins ARB and Lockheed. It's located at the corner of Atlanta Road and South Cobb Drive/Delk Road near gate number 2 of Dobbins. Volunteers are out there every weekday morning. The Museum is open to the public on Thursday-Saturday from about 10am-1pm or so. Just look for the C-141 we are working on.

Fantastic news, and welcome to WIX! Please keep us updated on what is happening with the F-84 and by all means, ask questions here. Lots of extremely knowledgeable folks here who can help identify parts or perhaps make suggestions. Just don't ask about paint schemes :roll:

Think you'll have her gone by the 14th? Glad to hear she found a home in any case! I'd try to save the T-29 but I don't think she'd fit in our car :(

The museum has posted some photos of dismantling the F-84 on their FB page.

If someone could go over there and take some recent pictures from the site that would be extremely helpful, because me and my father have the recourses to bring the T-29 to our farm for safe keeping, and we would also like some pictures of the car inside the hanger.

The hangar, yes. I've never been aware of a car, so I can't help ya there.
