Wish they had a few more photos posted. Cool that someone found out the history of the aircraft and bothered to put it all together.

Too bad they didn't post the serial number if they had it - neither Baugher or the Accident-Report.com site has an O-47 crash in Oregon on October 20, 1943.

38-284. Ugh. Don't ask me why I thought Redding was in Oregon - I was an English major, not a geography major

The airplane was O-47A # 38-284. The pilot got lost and ran out of fuel.
The accident is listed on AAIR. The accident report is nine pages and has no photos.
I disagree that the O-47 is the ugliest airplane.
