I've had my eye on Naked Fanny for MANY years!
(To clarify - the aircraft, not a person's fanny...)

Wasn't it a father/daughter team who flew these? The father flew Naked Fanny and the daughter flies a T-28???

Regards,
Mike

Reminds me of a funny story...my ex Operations Officer in my F-15E squadron had been an exchange officer flying F-18s with the Australians.

It seems that one day he gave a back-seat ride to an enlisted female intelligence analyst. There was apparently a maintenance problem on the ground, which resulted in a long delay sitting strapped into the aircraft. What followed was a high-G mission once they actually got airborne.

After the sortie, when they were on the ground, she was complaining a bit about how long she'd been strapped to that ejection seat.

Not wanting to offend her by using an obscenity and asking if her 'a$$ hurt', he instead said "Wow, I bet this flight really made your fanny hurt."

Obviously he didn't know the meaning of 'fanny' to the Aussies...she was apparently very quiet the rest of the time, and it wasn't until later at the squadron bar that one of the other pilots in the squadron let him in on his misunderstanding of "Australian English".

Unless there is another Father/Skyraider Daughter/T-28 team, you are talking about Bob Grondzik (father obviously). Different airplane.

Nathan et al--

The "Naked One" is the Skyraider formerly flown by EAA's Mike Schloss. Used to see it at Wings of Eagles, et al, in the 90s. The name, I guess, gives pause in non-North American circles--didn't realize that! "Naked Fanny" was the troops' nickname for Nakhon Phanom airbase in Thailand iirc...

[]Reminds me of a funny story...

Ditto, many years ago one of my english mates married our addmin. asst(american). and they went back home for a visit he gave her a list of things not to say...sooo she slipped and fell outside the flat that his kids lived in. Not wanting to curse in front of his kids and make a good impression she said she fell on her... the three kids then said(teen age) "nice trick", "good thing I didn't see that" and "so much for dads fun tonight" the last one got the smack to the back of the noggin. When he told us this little story the drafting room broke up(about half english) she was not pleased he told the story..but we were

bdk,
You are correct. Different aircraft for the father/daughter team...
(Geez - my first post here at WIX and I got it wrong!)

Well, I'm just glad that Bob Grondzik is not selling his gorgeous Skyraider!

Cheers,
Mike
