Wow! I sure would love to see an F-100F in the air! Wish the P-51 could have joined up closer to have a three ship of North American fighters.

NICE video! Excellent flyover. Reminiscent of the North American flyover with the F-100F/F-86F and P-51D they did at last year's Thunder Over Michigan air show. Agree it would be nice if they could fly a tighter formation with the 3 airplanes, similar situation at last year's Thunder Over Michigan show where if I remember the Mustang hung out of the formation and never quite did a real 3-ship. But I think it did get a little closer than today. I don't think these pilots and airplanes are really highly practiced at flying close together and it is better to play it safe.

It would be nice to see the F-100 fly in a tighter Heritage Flight formation with other warbirds and USAF aircraft someday though.

The P-51 in the flyover was not a D. It was P-51B Old Crow.

Sorry - if I gave the impression I said that - as I said it was "reminiscent" of the formation at Thunder Over Michigan last year in which the Mustang was a P-51D. 8)

You got wet too Phil? It unleashed on us while I was on the tug pushing Old Crow back in our hangar.

Billy Mitchell was a Lt. Col. at the time of the attack and not a Gen..

Yeah, cool photo! Just finished Bud Anderson's book "To Fly and Fight" . He talks about how the P-51 was the ultimate after moving up from the P-39. Later in 1956, when he assigned to F-86's he couldn't believe how quickly the Sabre design outclassed the combat performance of the P-51. He later flew everything but once in the F-100 he came taxiing in next to an F-86 and realized it was twice the size of the ol F-86.
Point being ,the video shows how the F-100 is twice the size of the F-86 .

The pains of being a wing walker. I had just run out to watch the wing tip while Norm pushed her back into the hangar when the heavens opened up. I got freakin' soaked.
