Obviously higher quality stuff will follow, but here's a little to get you started:

Adak or Minnesota? The only difference is Adak averages about 10 degrees warmer...

Just part of the fighter lineup:

...and view outside the tower:

Do you see the 37mm/.50 caliber scary face?

Thank you for sharing your photos, Dan! It was a great event - even the weather turned out to be absolutely perfect all day, despite looking a bit dodgy earlier in the week.

I'm sure we crossed paths, John. Does a black XP-82 t-shirt ring a bell?

I'm hoping someone grabbed a pic of the late P-40 trio. My son & I were just pulling out of the parking lot.

See y'all at OSH. :drink3:

It was a well-run and well-attended event.

Connie Bowlin interviewing Bud Anderson...Country-Western concert after the afternoon flying...can anyone say "little slice of Oshkosh?"

Unlike OSH, most of the ramp and attending aircraft were roped off. I fully understand why, but was a disappointment.

And for those curious: The Fagen P-38 has not had its nose art changed to SCAT III yet. Perhaps this will happen at Oshkosh (like Ruff Stuff and Twilight Tear)?

Thanks for enduring the poor photography, all.

Thanks for posting those pictures. It's been too long since I've been to a airshow. Please post more if you've got them. Thanks again.

I was there as well, and that has got to be one of my favorite museums around. Great show, the only gripe I had (and it's a small one) was the announcer kept referring to Lady Luck as Heavenly Body. But as previously stated, a very well run show and I can't wait for the next one.

Excellent? LOL...no, not excellent...but I'll take two of whatever you're drinking! :drinkers:

All right, gluttons of punishment...you asked for it:

The Sherman arrives...

...and draws a bead on the mostly-Teutonic audience. What some guys will do for a parking space, eh?

I went through a few more of my photos (and included those that I posted to the other thread). Dan, unfortunately I never got any shots of the P-40 formations.

As I recall, "Maid in the Shade" was one of two airframes that the CAF Minnesota Wing had to pick between back in the 80's to restore. They kept the airframe that would become "Miss Mitchell", and "Maid in the Shade" was restored by the Arizona Wing.

"Lady Luck", which has quite a few rare authentic details, including the correct Bendix top turret and life raft compartment.
