I saw that too and the guy is dead wrong. Even if we accept his premise, throw out the rest of 1926 and start counting from 1927, that would still mean "Showa 10" falls in 1936 and the book was published nearly a year before Earhart disappeared. "Hayward Withers" apparently makes the common mistake of forgetting there is no "Year Zero" in any calendar.
Besides, every online resource (for book and coin collectors and the like) I consulted supports the original contention that "Showa 10" is indeed 1935.
