I didn't think Saturday was too bad. The airshow portion was disappointing. The only reason we stayed over on Sunday was in hopes that the 109 would show up. Seeing it fly was really the only reason we went.
Yeah...yeah...I understand about weather, mechanicals, etc. but that doesn't keep me from being disappointed. Stayed for about 15 minutes of the "Swing Fever" band on Sat. evening. Had to leave. They started playing and we looked at each other and grimaced. "Maybe they'll get better." WRONG...They're TERRIBLE.
Anyway...picked up some nice artwork. Also got a picture of some of the 506th PIR, Easy Co. "Band of Brothers" signed by "Shifty" Powers and Forest Guth. "Wild Bill" Guarnier was supposed to be there but never showed.
Walked...er...CRAWLED through the Lanc. Pretty cool.
Had to get a little hostile with a couple of people who kept jumping up in front of us to take pictures. People just don't really give a rat's a-- that they're blocking everyone behind them. They can't seem to understand that they can't see anything while they're standing up that they can't see sitting down. Told one guy that I didn't come all this way to get pictures of his butt. (Yeah...I'm bigger than him.)
I love the airshows but am getting fed up with many of the people that go to 'em. (Understand that only those of us that are perfect can critisize.
