This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

As I mentioned earlier, these are screen shots saved from one of the videos in this post on the Fire Aviation website here:
https://fireaviation.com/2020/10/05/vid ... r-tankers/I don’t actually see any fire here, so I assume that the area is being pretreated either for an approaching fire or to prepare for a burnout operation. There is already a considerable amount of retardant on the ground.

Does the 747 have a slipper tank or is the retardant stored internally?
Fri Nov 13, 2020 9:04 pm
The 747 has the most god awful mess of a plumbing nightmare for a tank system that was originally designed by Evergreen. It’s ridiculously complex compared to the external tank system on the DC-10 tankers.
These are a couple of screen captures from the Global Super Tanker website here:

is the DC-10 tanker a -10 or -30?
Sat Nov 14, 2020 1:12 pm
According to the 10 Tanker website the DC-10 fleet consists of DC-10-30’s.
Here’s a link to their website:
https://www.10tanker.com/Here’s a data sheet from that site on the aircraft
