You're not wrong, but your not right, either. It's a matter of symantics. The 1649 was no less a Constellation as an 049. No doubt Lockeed marketing got caught up in competion with Douglas, and added Starliner to the Super Constellation name, but they never gave up the Constellation lineage. Ask any 1649 plumber in a 1965 layover lounge what type of equipment he's on and the one word answer was: Connie
