That pre-moratorium airworthiness is a valuable selling point. Wow, that's a "Gucci" cockpit--nice cross country setup. All it needs is an iPod connection to the interphone and wireless internet!

Can someone keep me posted on the fate of 610 as it has special meaning to us. Also did the Black Tbirds get sold?

A question I have for the T-Bird owners out there. When these are operated in the civilian world are the seats kept active?

Or does it depend on the particular operator?

Can anyone share who the Massachusetts owner is? I have some local airshows that may be interested if he is going to operate it locally. Thanks!

Tulio, where did all the Mexican T-Birds go? What replaced them? They replaced the T-28s and were still in use in the early 90s the last time I was down there.

There was an article a while back that was done on the Montana ANG T-33s. They were one owner aircraft and the Montana pilots ferried them down to hand them over to Mexico. They were the last USAF T-Birds. Think this happened about 1994. They were immaculate.

Our seats are hot and maintained. There is not other way out of the aircraft that I know of.

The angles taxiway also may have out Tutor 114177 sitting there too! She was removed be my team last year.
Any other pics? Looks cool seeing the T33 land there. I was told that the tutors were flowin into trenton then trucked to mountainview? Does this mean the tbirds can fly out of mountainview then?

Filming T-Bird departures out of Mountainview is a great idea. I'll work on that one and let you know what I come up with.

Regarding ejection seats, mine are disarmed. There's a compelling case for keeping them armed or not, but that's a discussion over a case of beer, or a 12 pack anyway.

I'm in regular contact with the MA owner who'll be operating T-33s 452, 564, and 610 out of Pease Fld, NH (KPSM). Right now he's up to his eyeballs in alligators with gov't paperwork/approvals, importation, ferry flight maintenance, spares aquisition, and coordination with Mountainview personnel. I'll ask him if he's interested in entertaining inquiries. He's a friendly guy, passionate about warbirds and really excited about bringing the T-33s to Pease Fld. We're already talking/dreaming about a three ship T-33 arrival to Oshkosh!

As far as flying jets out of Mountainview, the folks in charge up there were saying for a while they wouldn't allow any more airplanes to be flown out due to concern over deteriorating runway conditions. They've softened on that stance and are now indicating they will allow T-33s to be flown out. The runway is pretty worn, but last I heard, it's good enough. I got the definite sense the Canadian Forces are anxious to get those airplanes out of there as soon as possible. If anyone is interested in one of the remaining airplanes to fly or as a static display, I suggest you get in touch with Lancaster Aviation soon. John Cossar is handling the T-33 sale fof them and he'll be out of his office until December 20th.
